This course is geared towards those who have attended the beginner and intermediate workshops. Although not a prerequisite for this workshop, having attended the other sessions will be helpful.  

In this workshop, we go into the mechanics, programming, and control of 3D printers. This workshop will arm you with the knowledge to keep your fleet updated with the latest firmware, control your printer remotely and give you an understanding of how the GCODE files are used to control your robot army.  

  • We will give you the tools and knowledge to be able to manage to update your printer through firmware Updates with Visual Studio Code to compile Marlin. 
  • Use a Raspberry Pi with Octoprint to remotely control and manage your printer. 
  • Use a Terminal (command line interface) like Pronterface or Octoprint modify settings and tune your printer. 
  • Show options when it comes to firmware one can choose to get the peak performance out of your 3d printer. 

What will you need? 

  1. Access to a computer you have can install software on 
  1. Access to your 3D printer 
  1. A compatible USB cable to plug your printer into a computer
