Sherry Ratz
Sherry Ratz believes that the most important factor in a child’s success in literacy is the training of the teacher! Sherry is passionate about working with teachers to help them further develop their understanding and expertise in teaching reading and writing, and thereby improve student achievement. Sherry taught for the Waterloo Region District School Board and has experience in teaching primary and junior classes. After training as a Reading Recovery ™ teacher, Sherry taught both individuals and Small Group Intervention for 18 years. Sherry also provided leadership and Professional Development support for Literacy Intervention Teachers for 13 years. This PD support included presenting workshops, teaching demonstration lessons, lesson observation and coaching as well as mentoring new Intervention teachers.
