Webinars using Elluminate
What is a webinar?
Webinars are provided by Alberta Regional Consortium using Elluminate.
Short for web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the internet to a computer(s) at a remote site. A hardwired (not wireless) connection is required to avoid loss of audio or other associated bandwidth issues. A computer can be connected to a data projector thereby enabling a group to participate at one site but a microphone is still required for interaction with the other remote sites and speaker.
The key feature of a webinar is its interactive elements -- the ability to give, receive and discuss information, typically through slide show presentations, streaming video, VoIP, whiteboard and text chat.
CRC (Calgary Regional Consortium), CARCPD (Central Alberta Regional Consortium PD), CPFPP (Consortium Provincial Francphone), ERLC (Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium) LN (Learning Network) and NRLC (Northwest Regional Learning Consortium) are hosting a number of Webinar Sessions and they invite everyone to attend.
