- Four Directions Teachings - Four Directions Teachings celebrates Indigenous oral traditions by honoring the process of listening with intent as each elder or traditional teacher shares a teaching from their perspective on the richness and value of cultural traditions from their nation. In honor of the timelessness of Indigenous oral traditions, audio narration is provided throughout the site, complimented by beautifully animated visuals. Blackfoot, Cree, Ojibwe, Mohawk, and Mi’kmaq nations are included.
In addition, the site provides free curriculum packages for grades 1 to 12 to further explore the vast richness of knowledge and cultural philosophy that is introduced within each teaching. - Pier 21 Canadian Immigration Process - Experience the process of immigrating to Canada through Pier 21 in Halifax through this interactive simulation. Students will gain an understanding of the diversity of over a million immigrants that past through this port and the challenges they faced in their new land.

- Great Unsolved Mysteries in Canadian History - This website was created by researchers based at the University of Victoria, the Université de Sherbrooke and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto who work in the areas of Canadian history and historical methodology. It takes high school students through six unsolved mysteries in Canadian history, including the death of Peter Verigin in 1924 and a major fire in Montreal in 1734. Students become time detectives who must understand the context of the time and sift through all the evidence in order to draw well-defended conclusions about what “really” happened.

Differentiating Instruction in Grade 8 Social Studies:
- The Knowledge and Employability Studio is a guide to the implementation of Knowledge and Employability courses from grades 8 to 12, including English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and occupations courses. The Studio provides information, strategies, sample activities and tools to help teachers meet curriculum outcomes and enhance student learning.

- The Social Studies section of the Studio, found on the “Second Floor Curriculum Foundations” level, includes units developed to meet the outcomes of the Program of Studies. For many of the units, content required for the completion of the activities is found within the resource. In other cases, the content will need to be supplemented by the teacher from other sources, such as the authorized resources. There are also a variety of tools that can be used by the teacher and students as they complete the activities. These include skill-based tools that provide instruction on how to complete a task and content based tools that provide information that teachers may need as they approach the topic. For example, there are worksheets written at a grade 4 level to be used with the mainstream text.

In order to conform with the new Alberta Social Studies curriculum, webquests should be structured as a critical inquiry. Although some of those linked to this site are not inquiry-based, they may provide ideas and templates for new projects.
